First training organized at newly established smart distance-learning hall

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. The rapid development of information technology is revolutionizing many areas, one of which is the vocational education sector. Using the scientific and technological innovation, the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences in collaboration with the Green Gold and Animal Health project of the Swiss Cooperation in Mongolia has established a smart distance-learning hall to provide training to veterinarians working in remote aimags and soums. The opening ceremony was attended by D.Tumendemberel, Director of the General Authority for Veterinary Medicine, T.Heruga, Director of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, Ts.Enkh-Amgalan, Manager of the Green Gold and Animal Health project, specialists, scientists, and lecturers from these organisations.
The 180-seat hall is equipped with video conferencing
equipment, a broadcasting system, an acoustic system, a smart touch screen,
with high-capacity computer and printing equipment. The project has received
124.4 million MNT from the Green Gold Animal Health project of the Swiss
Cooperation in Mongolia and 35.4 million MNT from the Mongolian University of
Life Sciences. With the opening of the hall, specialized lecturers will be able
to prepare and teach students in an advanced way with a combination of audio,
video, and as well as a combination of physical lecture and distance learning.
In the future, based on the materials, aiming to organize e-learning sessions
for bachelors, masters, doctoral students, and rural veterinarians, as well as
to organize domestic and international scientific conferences. Within the
framework to create a database for e-learning, the project contributed 11 series
of digital handbooks and 5 series of video lessons on infectious, parasites and
non-communicable diseases of animals, food security issues, and proper use of
veterinary drugs.
