Mongolia, Poland discuss expansion of economic cooperationPolitics
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of
State Assets of Poland Jacek Sasin received the Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Poland B.Dorj on March 4.
At the meeting, they discussed in detail the opportunities for expanding bilateral relations and cooperation.
Mr. Jacek Sasin said that Poland aims to develop relations with Asian countries, including Mongolia for expanding economic cooperation. As major mining, energy, transportation and fuel companies of Poland are interested in Mongolia, Mr. Sasin proposed to organize a meeting of the representatives of these companies with the Mongolian Ambassador and relevant Mongolian organizations in the nearest future and send the representatives to Mongolia.
The Ambassador emphasized that it is important for Mongolia to interact, study experiences and cooperate with strong and fast-growing Poland that has similarities with Mongolia with its abundant coal and copper resources and its general economic structure. The Ambassador also noted that there are many opportunities in this field and proposed to intensify government-level relations.
The sides concurred to pay attention to reinstate the Intergovernmental Economic Commission meeting which has been postponed since 2014, renew the 'General Agreement on cooperation in executing geological and exploration works, mining and processing some kinds of minerals’, signed between the two governments in 1981, and connect relevant ministries.
