Snowfall and blizzards expected throughout the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Agency of Meteorology and Environment has issued a warning for blizzards in the aimags of Zavkhan and Gobi-Altai as well as the northern parts of Bayankhongor aimag and the western parts of Arkhangai aimag.
Snow is expected in the western and central region today and tomorrow, and in the eastern region on February 27. Strong winds are expected in the Gobi and plains.
Wind speed will reach 16-18 m/sec in the eastern region on February 27.
With temperatures dropping throughout the country on February 27, in the depression of Uvs lake and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan river, and in the basins of Ider, Tes, Yuruu and Baidrag rivers, the temperature will range from -30 to -35 degrees Celsius during the night, and -16 to -21 during the day.
In the mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentei, in the basins of Eg, Uur, Orkhon, Selenge, Kharaa, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz, and Khalkh rivers, the temperature will be -22 to -27 during the night, and -10 to -15 during the day.
In regions of the country with little snow, the night-time temperature will be -10 to -15 degrees Celsius, and daytime temperature will be -3 to +2 degrees Celsius.
In other areas, temperatures are expected to be -17 to -22 during the night, and -4 to -9 during the day.
