Deputy Foreign Minister works in Zamyn-Uud

Munkhjin worked in Zamyn-Uud border checkpoint, the main external trade port of
Mongolia. During the working trip, the Deputy Minister met with representatives
of the contract company, which is conducting renovation of the Zamyn-Uud checkpoint
and construction of the freight terminal.
As a result of the renovation project the border passing time of passengers and freight as well as the cost of traders will be reduced.
The project is scheduled to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2021 and will have a significant impact on Mongolian external trade and economy. Thanks to the project, the total area of the checkpoint will be increased by eight times, the number of passengers per day will be grown by four times, the number of large trucks will be increased by three times alongside a seven-fold increase in the number of passenger vehicles.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister worked at the Zamyn-Uud free
zone, where he held a meeting with the administration of the free zone and emphasized
its important role in increasing foreign trade and export of made-in-Mongolia
products.
