Second day of National Naadam Festival

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.  The National Naadam Festival of Mongolia is being celebrated across the nation with official holidays continuing from July 11 to 15. 


On July 12, racing events of Soyolon-five-year-old horses and half-bred horses have been held at the Khui Doloon Khudag Valley on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar. In the Soyolon race with a distance of 23 km, a horse trained by G.Chinzorig, from Khaliun soum of Gobi-Altai aimag ran the first, followed by a horse of Kh.Aminkhishig from Bulgan aimag and a horse of G.Batbold from Khuvsgul aimag ran in the second and third places. 


The same day, traditional Naadam tournaments of knucklebone shooting and archery are being held at the XIII Century Complex - Naadam field in Tuv aimag. 


The knucklebone shooting is being attended by 756 shooters of 92 teams and as of today, 128 shooters from 16 teams have been qualified for the elimination rounds. In the archery tournament underway, a total of 540 archers, including 396 male and 144 female archers are competing. 


The main tournaments of horse racing, wrestling and archery are scheduled to complete by today evening, July 12, and President of Mongolia will present certificates and medals to all winners.
