Preparations underway to put double-decker buses into service

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Electric double-decker buses and school buses have
been brought into the country as part of the efforts of Governor of the capital
city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan to improve public
transport services and reduce traffic congestion in the capital city.
900-950 buses provide transport for 600-650 thousand people every day in Ulaanbaatar city with a population of 1.5 million. However, the buses have not been improved in the last 10 years and there have been complaints from the citizens regarding this issue.
In Ulaanbaatar, school bus service was tested in late 2019 with 40 school buses transporting students of 29 schools in 33 routes for over 4 weeks.
