U.S Government donation of PPE presented to Ministry of Health

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Yesterday, U.S. Ambassador
Michael S.Klecheski handed over the U.S. government donation of personal
protective equipment for doctors and medical staff for COVID-19 prevention to Mongolia’s
Ministry of Health.
Expressing appreciations to the U.S. Government, Minister of Health D. Sarangerel emphasized that the PPE donation is an important and well-timed
measure at a time that the need for PPE has increased sharply due to the infection
situations in the world countries, and said these PPE would be urgently
delivered.
Ambassador Michael Klecheski said that the U.S. Department
of Defense has donated a total of USD 28,399.0 or MNT 80 million worth of PPE
to the Ministry of Health, the National Center for Communicable Diseases, and
the Specialized Inspection Agency, and expressed hope that the PPE would
contribute to preventing forefront doctors and medical staff from COVID-19
infection.
Moreover, the Ambassador informed that the U.S. Department of Defense, through its Civil-Military Support Element, is carrying out certain humanitarian works in Mongolia, and last week it commenced construction of a kindergarten in Sukhbaatar city, Selenge aimag.
The Ambassador also said the donation is the most practical example of the strategic partnership between Mongolia and the United States and praised the effectiveness of the Mongolian government's response to COVID-19.
