Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Office of the President of Mongolia has made a decision to indefinitely postpone this year's award ceremony of the First and Second Orders of Glorious Mother to prevent Covid-19 spread.

Every year, on June 1 - Children's Day in Mongolia, mothers who have six or more children are awarded the First Order of Glorious Mother and mothers with four children receive the Second Order of Glorious Mother according to a decree of the President of Mongolia. This year, 745 mothers submitted their applications for the First Order, while 10,160 mothers applied for the Second Order.

On June 1 of this year, the orders will not be presented personally by an official of any rank due to the ongoing national heightened state of readiness. However, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga will still issue a decree to entitle mothers to the money that comes with the award. Moreover, the Office of the President had discussions with relevant ministries and decided to allow mother to receive their award money without specifically making a request.
