Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On May 11, GIZ’s Energy Efficiency
Project (EEP) officially handed over new training equipment to the
Mongolian Energy Training Center.
“Human development is the most important issue, and GIZ is
the first to address this. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to support
a request of the Ministry of Energy to upgrade the training center to the best
of our ability through the Energy Efficiency Project,” said Mr. David Hancock, Project
Manager of the GIZ’s EEP Project, during his speech.
G. Enkhtaivan, Head of the Policy and Planning Department of
the Ministry of Energy, said: “Capacity building is a key condition for
improving the reliability of the energy sector, reducing accidents and
improving the quality of repairs, thereby reducing the sector's inefficient
costs and creating huge economic savings. These laboratories and equipment
handed over to the Training Center in the year of ‘Capacity Building for Energy
Sector Workers’ are a valuable contribution to the reliable operation and
economic efficiency of the energy sector. Therefore, the Mongolian government
would like to thank GIZ and the project team for implementing it and hope
that our long-term cooperation will continue to be successful.”
Commissioned by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, the Energy Efficiency Project is funded by the governments of Germany, Switzerland and the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar.
