Education Minister visits MNUMS Mongolia-Japan Hospital

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 6, the Cabinet resolved to name the new teaching hospital of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) ‘Mongolia-Japan hospital of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences’. During his second visit to the hospital on May 14, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg officially placed the hospital’s name board and met with the hospital staff.
The Minister informed that numerous issues concerning the
teaching hospital’s funding have been resolved by working groups over the past
two months. Specifically, it has been decided to provide MNT 8 billion from the
Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports for the operational costs
such as salaries and supplies, MNT 1 billion from MNUMS, MNT 12.8 billion from
the World Bank, and MNT 2.3 billion from the Ministry of Health for the
purchase of laboratory equipment and the investments totaling MNT 24.1 billion have ensured
the hospital’s normal operation. The hospital staff thanked the Education
Minister for the prompt actions.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki, MNUMS Director J.Tsolmon, and other officials accompanied Minister Yo.Baatarbileg during the teaching hospital visit.
