Foreign Minister receives UN Resident Coordinator

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 27, Minister for Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar received UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra.


UN Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra commended the Government of Mongolia for its prompt and effective response to COVID-19 pandemic and expressed the United Nations' readiness to support and cooperation in overcoming social and economic difficulties.


Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar expressed gratitude towards the United Nations, its system and specialized agencies for their support and said that the Government of Mongolia has set a priority to protect the lives and health of the people. The Minister D.Tsogtbaatar provided detailed information on the measures taken to overcome the economic crisis and support businesses at the irregular Cabinet meeting held on March 27.


The sides reviewed the implementation of the “UN Development Assistance Framework for Mongolia 2017-2021” document, which outlines the priorities for cooperation between the Government of Mongolia and the UN system organizations, projects and programs to be implemented, and the results to be achieved in 2022-2026. Moreover, the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
