Extended meeting of MAS institute directors held

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An extended meeting of MAS institute directors took place at Presidium’s office, MAS on January 8.


During the meeting, institute directors have presented their plan for research and development for 2020-2021, as well as the financial plan for flows and repairs of the institute. As directors discussed, new opportunities to collaborate with Governor’s Office of the Capital City starting from this year, 2020 were presented by some institutes . For example, Director of Physics and Technology, Dr. P. Altantsog said that the researchers from Institute of Physics and Technology could prepare the special heating material made by class foams for building construction for Ulaanbaatar city, and the use of this material could save significant amounts of money compared with current heating system. Director of Botanic Garden and Research Institute, Dr. I. Tuvshintogtokh notes that in 2020, decoration plants could be planted in the unused areas of Botanic Garden, and the institute has reached an agreement with Governor’s office of Capital City to buy and sell these plants.


In the meeting, MAS President D. Regdel marked the possibility of solving financial matters for institutes' building repairs and  purchase of necessary equipment further on sequentially. He said that next year, Mongolia marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of a scientific organization. Therefore, 2020 is a critical year, and the institute directors need to focus on the improvement of research results and achievements, increase of innovation products and public awareness and knowledge for science, increase of international joint projects, and strengthening of human resources.


At the end of meeting, Director of the Institute of History and Ethnography, Academician S. Chuluun and Director of the Institute of Paleontology, Dr. H. Tsogtbaatar were awarded for the best performances in the year of 2019.
