Intensive care unit and children’s ward fully restored

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the initiation of Director General of the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center (NTORC), the first children’s trauma and orthopedic unit has been fully renovated in the fourth quarter of 2019 financed from the budget package of the Minister of Health. 


A hand-over ceremony of the units took place on January 3, where Minister of Health D.Sarangerel and other officials attended.


Having 21 staffs, 12 rooms for in-patient treatment and 35 beds, the children’s ward provided assistance and services to 1499 children of 10 aimags and five districts of Ulaanbaatar city last year.


In addition, emergency unit of the center rendered first aid to 125.688 citizens last year. It is an increased performance by 14.407 patients compared with 2018. Whereas, 59.734 people were served by ambulatory care unit, showing an increase of 272 patients. 16.481 of them received in-patient treatment and of which 68.3 percent has undergone surgery.
