Traditional games to be promoted in collaboration with UNESCO

/MONTSAME/ On November 15, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports
G.Ganbayar met with Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairperson of the UNESCO Traditional
Sports and Games Ad Hoc Advisory Committee and other representatives. They talked
about cooperating in developing Mongolia’s traditional sports and games
and promoting them regionally and globally, as well as other cooperation
issues.
Mongolia joined the Group of Friends of UNESCO Traditional Sports and Games this year and both sides expressed readiness to hold international tournaments and festivals and collaborate in other areas as well.
The UNESCO representatives’
are here in Mongolia to meet with representatives of Mongolian traditional
sports associations, non-governmental organizations and inheritors of
traditional games while taking part in an academic conference, exhibition and
open-day event being held under the Mongolian Games campaign.
