Capital city delegate attends Seoul Mayors Forum on Climate ChangeSociety
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Seoul Mayors Forum on Climate Change was jointly organized by the ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability and the Seoul Metropolitan Government in Seoul, Republic of Korea on October 23-25. Coordinator for projects on air and environmental pollution of the capital city D.Munkhjargal participated in the forum, and did a presentation on the topic, ‘Climate change, air quality and building insulation, significance of energy conservation’.
In the presentation, she introduced Mongolia’s policy on slowing and adapting to climate change and measures being taken--specifically, the Green Development Policy of Mongolia, National Action Programme on Climate Change, Mongolia’s intended contribution to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and Ulaanbaatar’s contribution in slowing climate change as well as measures being taken on the city’s air quality, heat loss of buildings, and energy conservation.
On the second day of the event, Ms. Munkhjargal met with the Head of the Environment and Energy Department of the Environment Policy Bureau of Kyoto Takeshi Shimotsuma. During the meeting, the sides discussed partnership opportunities for the cities of Kyoto and Ulaanbaatar.
