Judicial General Council to partner with International Development Law Organization

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ To collaborate as a partner organization in the project on Combating Gender-based Violence in Mongolia (GBV project), the Judicial General Council of Mongolia established a memorandum of understanding with the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).


The project being implemented by IDLO with funding of the Government of Canada, aims to increase access of legal assistance service based on victim-centered approach to victims of domestic violence, give primary legal advice and information to victims, strengthen advocacy service system and raise awareness on GBV, victims’ rights and services to provide them. The project will be carried out in 2019-2022.


Stressing that domestic violence and dispute related to family remains one of pressing issues in Mongolia, Head of the Judicial General Council N.Lundendorj expressed his hope that legal environment would be created for building specialized family and juvenile court thanks to the project.
