Ground-breaking ceremony held for Zamyn-Uud checkpoint development
EconomyDornogobi/MONTSAME/. Within the
framework of developing checkpoints being implemented by Mongolian government, a
ground-breaking ceremony was held on September 12 for the project to rebuild
border checkpoint that meets the international standards, and improve the
capacity of Zamyn-Uud border checkpoint.
To be built with China’s
non-refundable assistance worth CNY 201 million (MNT 75 billion), the
checkpoint will include 30 facilities for passenger transportation and 28 for
freight transportation, infrastructure and greenery.
Thanks to the newly developed checkpoint, the capacity of the checkpoint per pay will be increased by four-times for passenger transport, three-fold for lorries and by seven-fold for automobiles. By doing so, it will be possible to pass through the checkpoint fast and provide convenient service, thus it will have a big impact on expansion of the country’s external trade and development of economy, highlighted the officials.
