Foundation laid for ‘Mongolian soldier for peace’ memorial complex

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of International Day of UN Peacekeepers, May 29,  the foundation-laying ceremony of ‘Mongolian soldiers for peace’ memorial complex has been held in National Garden Park.


Deputy Minister of Defense T.Dulamdorj, Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, Major General A.Ganbat and other officials from the General Staff and peacekeepers attended the ground breaking ceremony of the memorial complex.


Mongolia started celebrating the Day from 2005 and the Government of Mongolia formally approved celebration of the day by resolution No.140 on April 25, 2012.


This year’s Day has been celebrated under the theme “Protecting Civilians, Protecting Peace”.
