Rule on ethics of state servants amended
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At
today’s regular Cabinet meeting, a Rule on ethics of state administrative and
service servants was amended.
Specifically,
it has included a provision that bans public servants of all levels to not
gamble either in Mongolia or abroad, and visit such service places, said
L.Oyun-Erdene, Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government.
Information about
state officials’ alleged visits to casino or same kind service places when they
were on abroad working trip affects the reputation of Mongolian public service and its
workers.
“The Cabinet assigned corresponding body to oversee the implementation of
this resolution and issue a quarterly review. Certainly, it needs the control
of public and media organizations. If any public servant is found having gambled, it can be immediately informed to the Cabinet Secretariat of
Government. The Cabinet Secretariat will inspect the official and take actions
including discharging from one’s job. Initially, this rule will be enforced for
six months. If this rule fails to work, a bill will be formulated for parliamentary
consideration,” added Mr. Oyun-Erdene.
