Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On March 11, authorities of Mongolian Copper Corporation (MCC) submitted to the Prime Minister a request to hold negotiations on 49 percent shares of Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC) in accordance with the Parliament’s Resolution No.23 .

Chairman of the Board of Mongolian Copper Corporation M.Munkhbaatar said “ The Parliament’s Resolution No.23 instructed the government to hold negotiations with our company on the issue of 49 percent shares of EMC. Due to absence of negotiations, the last two trials reinstated 49 percent shares of Erdenet owned by MCC. In connection with the latest events, we have submitted our request to renegotiate this issue to the Prime Minister. We have repeatedly requested to meet the PM and hope that he will receive our company representatives.

“Investigation on the 49 percent shares of EMC has been going on for more than a year. I have been interrogated by the Independent Authority Against Corruption and Criminal Police more than 10 times. I consider the government’s actions as social demand. Everyone is equal before the law. Therefore, honoring the court and legal organizations, we show up every time they call. We understand and respect the measures being taken by the Government. We had a position to settle the issue peacefully. Our position remains unchanged and to confirm it, we are submitting the request to PM,” noted MCC CEO Ts.Purevtuvshin.
