The ninth liver transplant surgery successfully conducted

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Surgeons of the National Cancer Center of Mongolia successfully conducted their ninth liver transplant surgery yesterday, January 23. Surgeons from Irkutsk Regional Cancer Center came to learn from practices of Mongolian counterparts.
The National Cancer Center requested South Korea’s Samsung Medical Center to collaborate in introducing liver transplant operation in 2011 and started training doctors under a cooperation agreement. The doctors also got involved in training in countries such as India, France, Austria, US, Japan, Taiwan, Russia and Kazakhstan.
Preparation works for performing living donor liver transplant surgery were carried out from 2011 till October 2017 and the first liver transplant surgery has
successfully performed on January 28, 2018 in the National Cancer Center.
