Warmer weather expected across the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Agency for Metrology and Environmental Monitoring reported that warmer temperature is expected in most of the country. However, the cold snap will hit northern parts of the country on January 23 and eastern half of the country on January 24.

 

Slight snow with blizzard is expected in northern parts of the country on January 23, in some areas of western and central aimags on January 25. 

 

Wind will get stronger, reaching 12-14m/s in areas of eastern aimags on January 22 and in some areas of the country on January 23.

 

In the depression of Uvs lake and Darkhad, in the head of Zavkhan river, in the basins of Ider and Tes rivers, the nighttime temperature will be – 32 to -37 degrees Celsius, the daytime temperature will be -23 to -28.

 

The nighttime temperature will be -23 to – 28 in the Great Lakes Depresson, in mountainous areas of Khangai, Khuvsgul, Khentei, near Khurenbelchir, in the banks of Orkhon- Selegge, and in the heads of Eg, Kharaa, Yuruu, Tuul, and Terelj. Whereas the daytime temperature will be relatively mild -7 to -12 degrees Celsius.

 

The daily highs will range between -2 to +3 in southern parts of gobi region and sun-warmed areas. The nighttime temperature in the areas will be -11 to -16 degrees Celsius.

 

In other areas, the nighttime temperature will be -16 to -21 degrees Celsius, the daytime temperature will be -3 to -8 degrees Celsius.
