Head of the Cabinet Secretariat receives delegation of Facebook company

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 5, G.Zandanshatar, head of the Cabinet Secretariat received representatives headed by George Cheng, Head of Public Policy for Mongolia, Hong Kong and Taiwan at Facebook and Jeff Wu, Head of Trust and Safety for the Asia-Pacific region.
At the beginning, Mr. George Cheng gave general information about Facebook use in the Asia-Pacific region and Mongolia and introduced its terms of service.
Mongolia has over 1.5 million Facebook users in total. Facebook became a platform at which everyone can express and share their views. Nevertheless, fake accounts and false information are disturbing public order, especially affecting adversely to the development of children and youth," stressed G.Zandanshatar, requesting to arrange fake accounts and to cooperate in prevention of illegal actions.
“The Cabinet made a decision to ban smartphone use at schools at its regular meeting on September 5. The smartphone use is increasing the risk of discriminations in cyberspace for students,” he said.
