First-ever festival of knuckle-bone shooting takes place

Selenge/MONTSAME/ ‘Buur Kheeriin Toirom’, first-ever festival of knuckle-bone shooting, was organized in Buur Kheer steppe area, Selenge aimag on August 25-26, at an initiative of the aimag’s Governor Sh.Orgil.
A purpose of the festival was to promote and inherit knuckle-bone shooting, which was inscribed on the UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Over 200 knuckle-bone shooters from Ulaanbaatar city and Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon, Bulgan Tuv and Dornogobi aimags competed in the event for two days.
