Asian Togyzkumalak championship concludes

Bayan-Ulgii /MONTSAME/ The fourth Asian Championship of Togyzkumalak, a national game of Kazakhs which means nine pebbles, was successfully held in Ulgii city of Bayan-Ulgii aimag on July 26-30.

The competition was hosted by Togyzkumalak World Federation, Togyzkumalak Federation of Mongolia and Governor’s Office of the aimag involving around 170 players from six countries namely Mongolia, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The players competed in age groups of 8-14, 14-18 and above 18 with  togyzkumalak  categories of classical, rapid and blitz.

Kazakhstan players won the competition by claiming 14 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals, followed by Kyrgyzstan players with four gold, four silver and seven bronze medals and Mongolian players with two bronze medals.
