One Tourist, One Dollar Fund set up to protect local environment

Umnugobi /MONTSAME/ Citizens’ Representative Meeting and Governor’s Office of Sevrei soum of Umnugobi aimag organized a conference themed ‘Current situation of Khongor river area and further measures to take’ on June 19.
On the sidelines of the conference, ‘Development of Khongor river’, ‘Eco Khongor’ NGOs were established with aims to protect Khongor river basin and organize local events. The NGOs have 25 members, consisted of tour operators and locals. Moreover, they created a fund named ‘One Tourist, One Dollar’. Organizers expressed hopes that relations between tourist camps and locals will be strengthened and investment for environment protection will be increased, bringing concrete results.
