Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Archives of Mongolia  has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the ‘Udam /Bloodline/’ project unit. As a result, the parties will digitalize the population census data prior to 1930, making it easier for individuals to use the digital census data.

The census data since 1944 is avaiable in digital form, whereas the census data covering the period from 1800 to 1944 are kept at the National Archives on paper.

“Individuals may request these information in the archives. However, it is time consuming because it is not fully converted into digital form yet. As soons as it is digitalized, people can receive their own ancestors’ data using digital signature,” said the director of the Starsoft company and initiator of the ‘Udam’ project, D.Ulzii-Orshikh.

Every year on occasion of the Lunar New Year, a new work is implemented under the ‘Udam’ project, and this year, an initiative has been taken towards easing the access to archives essential to keep a genealogy through time-saving solution.
