Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During its regular meeting on December 27, the Cabinet modified the amount of health insurance premium.
In particular, the amount of health insurance premium will constitute four percent of an individual’s monthly wage or equal income, divided in half between the employee and the employer.
Self-employed individuals, herders, students, minors and those included in the Provision 6.1.12 of the Health Insurance Law will deposit annual fee of MNT 24,000.
Foreign citizens, stateless persons, citizens whose only income source is pension, members of a household in need of social welfare benefits, parents with children under the age two (age three for twins and triplets), soldiers and prisoners will have to pay annual fee of MNT 4,800.
The revision reduces health insurance fee of individuals without regular income, herders, self-employed and unemployed citizens.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection sees that the revision will help increase the number of the insured, improve the insurance fund capacity, and create conditions for rendering better health services to the insured.
