Recipient of Chinggis Khaan Order named

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Olympic Champion, judoka N.Tuvshinbayar has been named the 11th recipient of the Order of Chinggis Khaan.
Z.Enkhbold, Chief of Staff of the President's Office, held a press conference on November 15 to announce a decree of President Kh.Battulga.
The Order of Chinggis Khaan is a prestigious award conferred upon an individual, based on his or her merits, contribution to strengthening of the sovereignty and national integrity of Mongolia, achievements in promoting and transmitting Mongolian history and cultural values, and for special service to the nation and the people. N.Tuvshinbayar becomes the first athlete to receive the Order of Chinggis Khaan.
The award is presented on National Pride Day, which marks the birthday of Chinggis Khaan. The birthday of Chinggis Khaan is celebrated on the first day of winter in lunar calendar every year, and it falls on November 19 this year. Mongolia has marked the National Pride Day since 2012.
The President’s Chief of Staff emphasized the crucial role of N.Tuvshinbayar and his victory at the 2008 Summer Olympics in pacifying the tensions in Mongolian society after the July 1 Riot. “By winning Mongolia’s first ever Olympic gold medal on August 14, 2008, N.Tuvshinbayar helped relieve the political tensions and reunite Mongolia,” he remarked.
The Chief of Staff honored N.Tuvshinbayar for glorifying the nation with his hard work and triumphs on the international arena, and the respect he rightfully earned from the Mongolian people.
Hero of Labor of Mongolia, State Honored Athlete, recipient of Order of Sukhbaatar, 2008 Beijing Olympic champion, 2012 London Olympic silver medalist, Elephant of Nation Tuvshinbayar Naidan was born in Saikhan soum of Bulgan aimag on June 1, 1984. He is the youngest of seven children raised by herder family of T.Naidan and D.Tsend-Ayush.
Following his high school graduation in 2002, Tuvshinbayar joined Avarga Institute of Physical Education to become coach. He joined the national judo team in 2006, the same year he graduated from the Institute. In 2012-2014, he studied at the Mongolian State University of Education. The Olympic champion now lives with his wife and four children.
The 33-year-old judoka also challenges himself in traditional Mongolian wrestling. He earned a Hawk of Nation title in the 2013 National Naadam wrestling tournament by winning six opponents and upgraded his title to Elephant of Nation in the 2017 tournament by defeating seven wrestlers.
