Minister of Road and Transport Development meets civil aviation officials

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On October 24, Minister of Road and Transport Development J.Bat-Erdene met authorities of civil aviation sector and gave to them some directions after hearing information on ongoing actions, present state and urgent issues.
Information on the current situation of civil aviation sector was given by S.Munkhnasan, Director of the Air Transport Policy Implementation and Coordination Division, L.Byambasuren, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority and T.Tamir, Director of the MIAT Mongolian Airlines. They emphasized the necessity to enhance the financial capability of the MIAT and to upgrade the agreements on air relations with some countries. They added an issue must be tackled immediately to make an investment for launching the operation of the new international airport of Ulaanbaatar in Khushig Valley.
The Minister gave the officials directions on resolving the issues and to work out proposals. Moreover, they were obliged to seek a chance to minimize the ticket price of the Mongolian Airlines. The Minister also underlined the necessity to make local airport more effective in compliance with a policy on a development of general aviation.
