“Mongolian Steppe” international marathon approaching

            An international marathon called “Mongolian Steppe” will take place on September 10 in the “Khui Doloon Khudag” arena, the Athletics Federation of Mongolia reported today.
            Initiated by Japanese citizens Fujawara and Kon Aya in 1996, the 21st international marathon will be co-organized by the Athletics Federation of Mongolia and the “Nomadic Illustration” NGO with a sponsor from the Japanese Showa Holdings Group.
            Ulaanbaatar city’s Department of Tourism, the Embassy of Japan in Japan, the Administration of Tuv aimag, the Mongol Naadam Complex, physical culture and sport organizations, universities and institutes are attending the marathon as co-organizers.
            The international marathon will run in junior, senior and master’s categories with distances of 3, 5, 10 and 21 kilometers. As of today, some 4,000 people have applied for the race.
