EU to open its Representative in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Cabinet meeting held Thursday discussed and backed draft agreements on opening of the European’s Union’s Permanent Representative, its immunity and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC).
Then Ts.Munkh-Orgil, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was authorized to sign the agreements. Last month, the EU made a decision to open in Mongolia its Representative Office with the plenipotentiary and diplomatic status. Thus, the EU has its Representatives in 140 countries.
The EU is expected to appoint a head of the Representative to Mongolia in September of this year, and the actions are projected to commence from January 2018.
