Ulaanbaatar and Namyangju to co-realize a project

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar in cooperation with South Korean Namyangju city will realize a project titled ‘Forest of Namyangju Dasan’.
Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold met with Mayor of Namyangju Lee Seok-Woo on Monday, and signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding the project which aims to tackle desertification in the Mongolian capital.
Ulaanbaatar and Namyangju cities established sister-city relations on October 28, 1998, and the 20th anniversary falls next year. “I am delighted bilateral relationship is developing as a complex partnership between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea”, Mayor S.Batbold said during the meeting.
Mayor Lee Seok-Woo said that it was his third visit to Ulaanbaatar. The purpose of his visit to Ulaanbaatar this time is to discuss the activities and events to be co-held in frames of the anniversary. “We’ve been closely cooperating in cultural and educational spheres in the past, and we’d like to expand this cooperation to economy and tourism”, he said.
