India’s leaders congratulate Mongolia’s new president and convey invitation for visit

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In separate signed messages, H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, President of Republic of India and H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India have extended warm felicitations to H.E. Mr. Kh. Battulga on his election to the Office of the President of Mongolia.

President Mukherjee stated “India and Mongolia share deep historical and cultural bonds. Buddhism provides strong roots to our bilateral partnership, which have been further nurtured by our shared belief in democracy and rule of law. Mongolia’s transition from single-party rule to multi-party democracy has been remarkably successful.  Recently concluded Presidential elections have once again proved Mongolia’s commitment towards a vibrant democracy.”

PM Mr. Narendra Modi emphasized that during his visit to Mongolia in May 2015, he personally experienced the warmth and hospitality of Mongolian friends. During the visit, two sides elevated their engagement to a Strategic Partnership. India remains committed towards the swift implementation of the agreements and understandings reached during the visit.

PM Mr. Narendra Modi extended to President of Mongolia an invitation to visit India, reports the Embassy of the Republic of India in Ulaanbaatar.
