Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ E.Batzorig, student at the Mongolian State University of Education, along with other students, has created a number plate recognition system. Within the framework of the Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sports’ Student development program, E.Batzorig created the technology using MNT 3 million.

The number plate recognition system reads registration number of registered vehicles, allowing them to pass through gated community. In other words, only the vehicles with registered license plates will be able to pass through, creating a cost-efficient security system without the need for guards. The sensor will enable the camera to take pictures of each passing vehicle and recognize its license plate.

Presently, the technology is being tested within Mongolian State University of Education’s campus and is available for installation.
