Miyakonojo city delegation meets Parliamentary Speaker

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, May 24, Japanese delegates from Miyakonojo city, headed by the city Mayor Ikeda Takahisa, who are on a visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Ulaanbaatar Mayor S.Batbold, paid a courtesy call on Parliamentary Speaker M.Enkhbold.
The Speaker noted that the Economic Partnership Agreement between Mongolia and Japan of 2016 has created a favorable condition for the development of cooperation between the cities of Mongolia and Japan and joint businesses. Speaker M.Enkhbold also mentioned that he visited Miyakonojo city 20 years ago as a Mayor of Ulaanbaatar and that time, Mongolian cultural days were organized in Miyakonojo city and a document to establish friendship relations between the cities was signed.
Mr Ikeda Takahisa thanked the speaker for the meeting and said that the cooperation of the cities has been broadened in many areas since the establishment of the relationship in 1999. One example of multiparty cooperation is that 10 students from Ulaanbaatar involved in a study tour to Miyakonojo city last year within a student exchange program.
"Extensive works are being done ahead of Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The parties agreed to conduct trainings of Mongolian selected free style wrestlers in Miyakonojo and the trainings are scheduled to start next February" said Mayor Ikeda Takahisa.
The Mayor invited Speaker M.Enkhbold to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of friendly relationship of the cities in 2019. Mr M.Enkhbold thanked for the invitation and said that he would support the cooperation and relations of the two cities in all possible ways.
