Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 24-28, B.Bat-Erdene, Minister of Defense of Mongolia is paying a working visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Sergey Shoygu, General of the Army of Russia. He is also the sixth Moscow Conference on International Security.

On the first day of his visit, Defense Minister B.Bat-Erdene met with B.Delgermaa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Russia and Mongolian students studying at military schools in Moscow.

In the scope of the visit, the two countries' Defense Ministers held an official meeting to discuss defense tie, including military-technical cooperation between Mongolia and Russia and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern. The Mongolia's Defense Minister handed over an invitation to Minister Sergey Shoygu to pay a visit to Mongolia at his convenient time. In turn, the Russian Defense Minister confirmed to visit Mongolia within this year.

Russia, Mongolia's northern neighbor, renders nonrefundable military and technical aid to Mongolia and enables Mongolian servicemen to study at military schools of Russia through soft loans and government scholarship quotas. The two countries traditionally co-organize “Selenge” military field exercise on the territory of each country.
