State Secretary of Foreign Ministry receives South Korean delegates

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On April 24, D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia received delegates of the Republic of Korea led by Han Dong-man, Ambassador for Overseas Koreans and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, who attended the 9th consular consultative meeting of foreign ministries of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea.

At the meeting, State Secretary D.Davaasuren said that the consular meeting is a special consultative dialogue directed at solving various challenges encountered by the nationals of the two countries and protection of their interests as well as consular relations and travel conditions. In this sense, he underlined the importance of improving the legal environment required to solve any issues concerning the consular ties and keeping the frequency of such consultative meeting.
 
D.Davaasuren, as one of the initiators of the consular consultative meeting between the ministries of Mongolia and South Korea, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, which was started to be organized with broad participation from the both sides. Moreover, he emphasized that the two sides need to make an effort to realize the goals set to ease travel conditions and exempt from visa requirements in the future.

Mentioning that the government of Mongolia pays great attention to protect the interests of around 36000 Mongolians people living and studying in South Korea, he requested the South Korean side to cooperate and give support with a regard to tackling any issues confronted them.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on some issues of mutual concern and on the regional security and the Korean Peninsula.
