Ambassadors attend Business Council of Mongolia monthly meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Business Council of Mongolia’s monthly meeting was held on Monday, April 17 at the Best Western Tuushin with BCM Chairman Byambasaikhan Bayanjargal hosting for an audience of 110 members. Ambassador of the United States of America to Mongolia Jennifer Zimdahl Galt, Ambassador of Canada Ed Jager, Ambassador of Germany Stefan Duppel and Ambassador of Japan Masato Takaoko were guests of the meeting. 
 
At the opening, US Ambassador Jennifer Z. Galt remarked “2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and Mongolia, and I am pleased that our bilateral trade relationship, like the rest of our partnership, continues to deepen” and noted “We recently published our 2016 Investment Climate Statement. We believe that Mongolia can improve its economic and fiscal situation by successfully implementing its commitments under the anticipated IMF program and the U.S-Mongolia Transparency Agreement, which entered into force last month. We encourage the private sector and organizations like BCM to proactively engage with the Mongolian government and Parliament”.
 
Ed Jager, Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia remarked the increase of economic and business approaches in recent years. “The IMF program needs to be approved and implemented. More and more companies are interested in Mongolia and vice versa. The Canadian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar will seek to consolidate this in 2017” he stated. On the side note, this year marks the 150th anniversary of the founding of the nation.
 
The next monthly meeting will be held on May 15. According to the Business Council of Mongolia, two guests, namely Ranil Salgado and Neil Saker from the International Monetary Fund will be attending the meeting.
