Kuwaiti investors willing to finance projects in Mongolia
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the sidelines of the official visit to Kuwait, the Chairman of the State Great Khural, Mr M.Enkhbold met Mr Farouq A. Bastaki, an Executive Director of Alternative Investments at Kuwait InvestmentAuthority, and Mr Anas Khalid Al Saleh, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Kuwait.
Mr A.Bastaki expressed said he is well aware of the situation in Mongolia, as he had travelled to Mongolia on making investment. It is important to have careful observations and conduct thorough studies on efficiency of potential projects, he said and expressed his position, according to which he prefers implementing small-scale projects through the chambers of commerce.
The Speaker, Mr M.Enkhbold offered great interest to cooperate with the authority, and underlined “Your hearty practices and expertise in the global exchange markets are of major significance to Mongolia.
The Kuwaiti Finance Minister, Mr Khalid Al Saleh, the latest project implemented in Mongolia by Kuwait completed in 2010. Although, a team formed in accordance with a decree of His Highness the Emir paid a visit to Mongolia in 2014 in quest for investment project, the team has concluded that there were no suitable investment project. The Kuwait Fund and the investment authority will be willing to accept proposals to genuine projects.
On the second day of his visit, the Speaker along with his accompanying delegation got familiarized with the operations of the Kuwaiti parliament. With this, the official visit ended.
The former and current Emirs of Kuwait paid official visits to Mongolia in 1995 and 2007.
