Wreaths laid to S.Zorig’s statue for his birthday
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ One of the pioneers of Mongolian democracy and a renowned figure in politics and society, the late S.Zorig was born on this day of 1962. As a tradition, members of Zorig Foundation, his family and friends lay flower wreaths to his statue, standing in south of Central Post Office.
Present were at today’s ceremony, S.Zorig’s younger sister S.Oyun MP, L.Bold, M.Zorigt and S.Demberel MPs, along with the members of Democratic Party (DP) and Civil Well Green Party (CWGP).
“My brother’s close friends and colleagues remember him on this day and give lecture on his aspirations about Mongolia for young members of Zorig Foundation. The foundation has been implementing the Young Leader program for over a decade. We should not underestimate young people, because my brother was leading a revolution when he was 25 and 26 years old”, said S.Oyun MP.
Representatives of Baganuur citizens also showed up at the ceremony. One of the citizens L.Baatarsuren said “He was one of the pioneers of democratic movement. His friends who ‘fought’ beside him are now the decision-makers. It is high time that his murderer was discovered and sentenced”.
