Positive trade balance grows in 2015

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ As of December, 2015, the total cumulative trade turnover decreased by 23.1 percent (USD 2,544.6 million) from that of the previous year and reached USD 8,466.6 million. The decrease in the trade turnover was mainly due to the decrease in imports by USD 1,439.5 million.

The structure of the trade flows with the neighboring trade partners is as follows: 62.1 percent or USD 5,257.9 million with PRC, 13.0 percent or USD 1,098.0 million with Russia.

The trade volume between Mongolia and China decreased by 22.7 percent, while the trade volume between Mongolia with Russia decreased by 31.8 percent.

Trade balance increased by USD 334.4 million against the previous year and reached USD 872.3 million. The high export growth rate in 2014 was due to the exports of copper concentrate and itstarted to stabilize.
