US Defense Institute trains Mongolian military lawyers
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The U.S. Defense Institute of International Legal Studies has given our military lawyers a training themed “Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law” in Mongolia. The training was the initialization of Mongolia–US cooperation in capacity building of Mongolian military lawyers.
Participants of the training debated issues such as respecting human and civil rights, sentencing of cases of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment, laws on human rights and armed conflict, issues against gender violence, use of armed force in law enforcement, international and domestic armed conflicts, and other problems concerning use of force, through various case studies.
The action was organized in frames of the cooperation between Mongolian Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Department of Defense.
