Our freestyle wrestlers capture five medals

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The national team of Mongolia has successfully competed in the 2015 World Wrestling Championship which ran September 7-12 in Las Vegas, the USA, having grabbed five medals, including one gold.

As the team results, our men team has been ranked fourth with 41 points, the women team has taken seventh place with 27 points.

State Honored Sportswoman and Olympic bronze medalist S.Battsetseg has won a gold medal in the women -63 division, becoming the very first Mongolian woman to capture two gold medals in the world championships.

International masters of sports B.Nomin and P.Onorbat claimed silver medals in the men’s -61 and -74 contests, respectively. The previous year’s World champion S.Tserenchimed won a silver medal in the women’s -60kg bout. Another Mongolian E.Bekhbayar took bronze medal in the men’s -57 division.

O.Nasanburmaa (women’s 69 kg), G.Mandakhnaran (men’s 65kg) and J.Chuluunbat (men’s 125kg) have been qualified to compete in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics after taking fifth place in their categories.
