13歳の柔道少女、大統領の推薦で日本留学
　すごい少女がいたもんだ。バヤンホンゴル県の田舎から首都ウランバートル（UB）へ出て来て、柔道全国大会で得意の「一本背負い投げ」で優勝した。小柄ではにかみやの静かな少女の、どこにそんなファイトが潜んでいるのだろうか。少女の名前はビャムバドルジ・バダムガラヴ。9歳から柔道を始め、大好きな柔道一筋に精進して来た。ハルトマー・バトトルガ大統領が強く推薦して、この3月20日、徳島県の生光学園中学校（小・中・高一貫校）へ留学のため、日本へ旅立った。モンゴルの期待を一心に担って、めざすは2024年のパリ・オリンピックだ。

　フィギュアスケートのG.マラルエルデネ選手は、3月2日～12日にかけてロシアのクラスノヤルスクで開催された第29回冬季ユニバーシアードの女子シングルに出場した。モンゴルが国際的に有名なフィギュアスケート競技に出場するのは今回が初めてだ。

　体操競技の国際大会「Excalibur cup 2019」がアメリカのバージニア州で開催された。同国際大会には、アメリカ合衆国の25の州と10ヵ国のおよそ3500人の体操選手が参加した。

　第23回スタンダード・チャータード香港国際マラソン2019が2月17日に行われた。同マラソン大会では、モンゴルの代表で、女子マラソン部門の国際マスター・B.ムンフザヤ選手が6位に入賞し、2時間35分44秒でレースを終えた。

　2月11日に「第9回白鵬杯2019」が東京で開催された。同大会では、8カ国からおよそ1200人の子どもたちが参加し、モンゴル代表団の10人の子どもが別部門に3位に入った。

　1月27日、アメリカ・ニューヨーク市ブルックリン区のバークレイズ・センターで2009年ボクシング世界選手権で銀、2012年の五輪の銀メダリストニャムバヤル・トゥグスツォグトプロボクサー選手の11回目の戦いが行われ、トゥグスツォグト選手は3-0の判定勝ちで勝利した。
