'Transit Mongolia' forum to be held to increase transit freight

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 14th meeting of the working group
on transport of the Mongolia-Russia intergovernmental Commission was held in
Ulaanbaatar on February 18-19.
At the meeting, the sides decided to organize the ‘Transit Mongolia 2019’ forum in Mongolia to increase the volume of transit freight through Mongolia. The two parties also agreed to create possibility for allowing privately-owned trains of Mongolia to transport on Russian railways and to study possibilities of using long freight trains, according to the Intergovernmental Agreement between Russia and Mongolia on Terms for Railway Transit Transportation, which was established last year.
Moreover, Vladimir Tokarev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia
got acquainted with operation of Ulaanbaatar Railway Mongolian-Russian joint
venture and congratulated its heads and employees for their tremendous success
of last year on behalf of the Minister of Transport of Russia.
