Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa meets Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo

/MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa met
with Pavel Anatolievich Shevtsova, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for the
Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International
Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), exchanging views on Mongolia-Russia
cooperation in the spheres of higher education, culture and science.
At the
beginning of the meeting, Minister Tsogzolmaa expressed pleasure at the rising
number of Mongolians studying in Russia with the government scholarships and
made a proposal for matching the fields of studies to the socio-economic demands
of Mongolia.
Ten Mongolian
students are currently studying at language preparation of Baikal State
University with the financing of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science
and Sports. In this regard, the Minister proposed to prepare specialized
teachers, involve special needs education teachers in Mongolia with short- and long-term refresher training at Russian universities and to bring specialized teachers
from Russia.
The Meeting
of the Mongolia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission, held this February,
decided to grant Russian Presidential Scholarships to 500 students every year. Minister
Tsogzolmaa requested the Russian part to be attentive to mainly granting
scholarships in engineering and natural sciences.
Moreover,
the sides agreed to establish a cooperation agreement among Nicholas Roerich
Museums in St. Petersburg and Ulaanbaatar and the Russian Centre for
Science and Culture, then to implement joint research projects through the
Roerich Society and to mount
exhibitions.
