SocietyUvurkhangai /MONTSAME/ With the financing of soft loan of USD 19.5 million, provided by Asian Development Bank, wastewater treatment plants in the centers of Uvurkhangai, Umnugobi, Dornogobi and Arkhangai aimags are being renovated
A new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of treating 3000-6000 cubic meter a week will be put into operation in Arvaikheer, Uvurkhangai in November. The new plant will provide service to 50 thousand households and release grey water purified up to 90 percent that can solve irrigation of green spaces. Moreover, the corresponding officials are studying possibilities of making fertilizer and fuel with the silt.
Director of Comfort Implex LLC U.Purevbaatar noted that although the new wastewater treatment plant was planned to be commissioned in 2019, the construction work is to be completed in five months by employing local people. In recent years, the population of Arvaikheer city is increasing and apartments for 1236 households have been commissioned since 2015.
The current sewage treatment plant was built in the 1970s with the capacity of 600-1000 cubic meter. In connection with the increasing number of apartments and population, the treatment plant is overloading and cannot meet health standards.
