Workshop against human trafficking and smuggling taking place
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A workshop for law enforcement officers under the theme "Intensifying cooperation of border authorities against human trafficking and smuggling” started yesterday, March 21. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia and International Organization of Migration (IOM), the workshop was attended by Donato Colucci, Senior Immigration and Border Management Specialist of the IOM in Bangkok and Darlene Pajarito, Executive Director of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking \IACAT\ in the Philippines.
The workshop becomes the first event in Mongolia to ensure simultaneous participation of NGO representatives as well as border, immigration and police officers from the from the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, General Police Department and General Authority for Border Protection and Mongolian Immigration Agency responsible for combat against organized crimes.
The workshop will run through March 23.
