Mongolian Cyclists Claim Gold and Bronze at International Events

Ulaanbaatar, September 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian national cycling team delivered a strong performance in international competitions held over the past weekend, showing consistent improvement internationally.


International Master of Sports B. Tegshbayar, representing the Mongolian national cycling team, the “Aldar” sports committee, and the Roojai Insurance club, secured a bronze medal at the prestigious Dhofar Classic 2025 race held in Oman. His performance earned him an additional 25 points in the international rankings.


The 174-kilometer race stretched from Al Mughsail Beach to the scenic Darbat Waterfalls, attracting elite cyclists from across Asia and the Middle East. In a remarkable achievement, fellow Mongolian national team rider E. Bolor-Erdene claimed the gold medal, proudly leading the award ceremony with the Mongolian national anthem.


International master B. Maral-Erdene competed in the regular start of the “Tour of Shanghai” series in Shanghai, China, where he successfully retained the jersey of the best Asian cyclist. His consistent performance continues to affirm his status as one of the region’s top riders.


Meanwhile, the Mongolian national cycling team is preparing for the upcoming 2025 UCS Road World Championships, set to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from September 21 to 28, 2025. This will be the first time the championships are held in Africa, with demanding terrain and altitude posing a true test for top cyclists.
